Galapagos Islands needs no further introduction! It is just one of these magic places that will leave you with memories that will last a lifetime. It is just not possible to understand that wildlife can act in such a manner and from the minute you understand that the delay is due to the fact that a sealion have decided to take up residence a the check in counter for your ferry! Galapagos is 100% pure nature
As an alternative to the classic visit to the Galapagos Islands we have created a different option and possibility to experience the islands in a different way. Using existing public transport between the the islands of Santa Cruz, San Cristobal and Isabela you can have the option of seeing the islands from a more varied angle. The trip can either start in San Cristobal or Baltra and can be modified to fit your chosen itinerary.
Day 1: Departure from Quito or Guayaquil to Baltra
Departure on any airline from the mainland to Baltra (but you need to arrive no later than 10am in order to catch the last speedboat to Isabela departing around 2pm). Upon arrival at Baltra you will be met by our representative and taken on public bus to the channel dividing Baltra from Santa Cruz Island.
From the other side there is a private transfer into Puerto Ayora (takes about 30 minutes). Make sure you bring enough cash with you as no ATM machines on Isabela (but you can use your card at some establishments).
The speedboat ride across to isabela takes about 2,5 hrs. Upon arrival on Isabela you will again be met by our representative and taken to the idyllic little guesthouse right in the beach in the main town of Villamil.
Rest of the afternoon to settle in and enjoy a cold beer and watching the sunset. Overnight La Casita de la Playa
Day 2 & 3: Villamil, Isabela Island (F)
Free time to swim with the turtles, marine iguanas and sealions on one of the many beaches in and around Villamil. Make sure that you do one of the many excursions available (we recommend Tintoreras as well as the volcano tour). renting a bike to explore the long beaches is a good idea as well (cost approx USD2 per hour)
Overnight La Casita de la Playa
Day 4: Flight to San Cristobal Island (F)
Transfer in the morning and a short small aircraft flight to San Cristobal (30 minutes). Upon arrival at San Cristobal you will be met by our representative and taken to your hotel. Rest of the afternoon free.
Overnight Hotel Pimampiro
Day 5: San Cristobal Island (F)
Free time on Cristobal Islands to optional excursions. Overnight Hotel Pimampiro
Day 6 til 8: Join your 4 day / 3 nights Galapagos Cruise (F,L,D)
Some time today you will be picked up by our representative and join your 4 day / 3 night Galapagos Cruise aboard the Gala I / Penguino vessel. Depending on the itinerary that fit in with your day of departure you can expect to visit some of the most impressive islands and hopefully manage to see why these islands are so special.
Over the next few days you will most likely visit the islands of South Plaza, Floreana and Santa Fè Island (but this can vary from different departures). These islands have large colonies of sealions, marine iguanas, blue footed boobies, herons, pingvins and a variety of birds.
Day 9: Puerto Ayora (F)
You arrive Puerto Ayora in the morning and your cruise ends after breakfast and you will be taken to your hotel in town. Rest of the afternoon free to explore the little town. Overnight Fernandina
Day 10 & 11: Puerto Ayora (F)
Time to explore some of the highlights on Santa Cruz (we recommend that you visit one of the turtle areas in the highlands and of course the Charles Darwin Centre), but after having seen all the animals in the wild it is not that great actually. Overnight Fernandina
Day 12: Departure (F)
You can depart the islands at any time. Transfer back to Baltra airport.

Other useful information:
Price: is based on per person sharing (single room surcharge on request) and in low season. Price depends on availability on flights for the requested dates of travel.
Best time to visit the islands: The islands are actually a destination that you can travel to all year round. The high season as far as tourism goes seems to be m,id-December to January and from June to August. As all animals are basically stuck in the islands there is little migratory animals (one of the few would be the waved albatross).
