Looking for a fun family activity? Learn how to make ANZAC biscuits, a sweet biscuit from Australia, in the comfort of your own home! In this hands-on virtual baking class, you will get to make and eat your own traditional Australian biscuits while hearing about the history and significance of ANZAC Day. Discover a fun game people play on this special day, ideas for easy craft activities and listen to a wonderful children’s story book. This is one the whole family will enjoy! Only one adult ticket is needed per household.

Your online experience will start with a welcome from your Australian host, and the chance to meet any other participants joining from around the globe. You’ll share your own interests in Australian cuisine, go through all the ingredients and equipment, and have the chance to ask any questions before you start making your own ANZAC biscuits.
After a traditional gunfire breakfast (not as scary as it sounds!) it’s then time to bake! As you begin making your biscuits, your host will share with you where the name of these biscuits came and why Australian families started baking them over 100 years ago. ANZAC biscuits hold a special place in the heart of many Australians and your host will share with you their stories and memories of the treats.
Because ANZAC biscuits are usually made for a particular day of remembrance, you will learn what other traditions Australians normally do for this day. One of which is a fun game that is only played on this one day of the year. Your host will teach you the game and you’ll have a chance to play it while your biscuits are baking. You’ll also get lots of ideas for different arts and crafts you can make that are popular with Australian kids to celebrate this day of remembrance.
You will also get a chance to learn about other Australian foods that are enjoyed on particular holidays or year-round and ask any questions that you have about ANZAC Day or Australia in general.
We will finish the experience with a short story and poem, which is another one of our traditions, then finally, once the biscuits are ready to come out of the oven you will get to enjoy a delicious taste test. Smiles are guaranteed!

For this tour, you will need access to a computer, tablet or smartphone with a stable internet connection.
After booking, you will receive an invitation to the Zoom meeting. Multiple guests may participate from one device.
For your online Urban Adventure experience, you will be in a small Zoom group of a maximum of 10 people.
This experience is free for children aged 6 to 18. Not suitable for children under 6 years. Only one adult ticket is needed per household. In order to maintain our small group experience and interactivity, maximum 3 children per household. If you'd like to book for a large children's group, please contact us for a private online experience.
Please note that some baking steps will require adult assistance. For both physical and online safety, please do not leave children under age 18 unattended during this experience.
