This program and its services are intended to be part of a more extend program. It also shows a much more original and charming route from San Cristóbal de las Casas to Palenque. We recommend to add to this program’s services prior and post hotel nights and further services, as e.g., Sumidero Canyon, driving up to Campeche and Yucatán afterwards and similar.

Start of services with pick up in San Cristóbal de las Casas to drive into the central lacandon valleys of Chiapas. Visit the interesting archaeological site of Toniná, where the pyramid is built on the natural slopes of a great hill. The artwork is worth to be seen there, as it is also the great outlook from high up over the landscape. In the afternoon, arrival in Nahá Lacandon community for resting time of day/evening at leisure and overnight in community huts.

Morning visit walk in Nahá Lacandon community to see and learn about local way of all day living and traditions, as well as to reach an outlook tower over the jungle to observe birdlife. Later morning departure drive from Nahá to get deeper into the Lacandon jungle and reach Metzabok community next to a wonderful landscape of hills and lakes. Have a boat ride here in companionship of a local community representative. Afternoon continuing drive to your rural cabin accommodation in Valle Escondido.

Have a full day excursion to visit Yaxchilán archaeological site by boat over Usumacinta River. Yaxchilán is located remotely along the water flow and bursts with jungle and monkey wildlife around. In the afternoon, visit Bonampak archaeological site, where some inner temple paintings from prehispanic Maya culture are of stunning conservation. Evening return to your hotel in Valle Escondido.

Morning departure drive, to be in Roberto Barrios town for the visit with activities in wonderful local waterfalls already shortly afterwards. In the afternoon, reach Palenque and its archaeological site for a visit walk there, to learn about this prehispanic Maya King City, the ancient buildings like Temple of the Inscriptions, Governor’s Palace and Observatory, as well as to enjoy the beautiful natural setting on a natural terrace with embracing jungle on the slopes of Chiapas mountains from behind and a great outlook on the Plains of Tabasco neighbor state to the front. The program and its services end with delivery in Palenque bus station or a local hotel (hotel and there included services not included anymore in this program and its services).
