Oversikt

The unique Fly and Cruise format of this Antarctica itinerary offers the benefit of speed and comfort. From Punta Arenas, you will board a four-engine jet plane and and in just two hours arrive in Antarctica, where your ship will be waiting. Sail along ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs, while enjoying the company of sea birds, penguins, seals and whales. Each day, Zodiac excursions will get you close to the wildlife. The goal of this expedition is to sail far south and reach the Polar Circle.

Day 1
Arrive in Punta Arenas, Chile, where you are welcomed and transferred to your hotel. You should plan to be in Punta Arenas at 14:00 hours, at the latest. Later, gather for a welcome dinner and meet your fellow adventurers while enjoying a typical regional menu.
Day 2
Your Antarctic adventure begins with a two-hour flight from Punta Arenas to King George Island, in the South Shetland Islands. As you exit the airplane, the clear Antarctic air fills your lungs for the first time. Explore the area surrounding Chile's Frei Station and Russia's Bellingshausen station, before boarding a Zodiac to embark your expedition vessel.
Day 3
Sail along ice-filled fjords and among spectacular icebergs, while enjoying the company of sea birds, penguins, seals and whales. Visit the South Shetland Islands and the western coast of the Antarctic Peninsula, disembarking by Zodiac each day. In small groups, hike to extraordinary sites and take part in exploratory Zodiac excursions to otherwise inaccessible areas.
Day 4
Expert polar guides share their passion for Antarctica through an engaging program of illustrated presentations, and lead you ashore to interpret the wildlife, history and many wonders of the Antarctic environment.
Day 5
From the glass-enclosed lounge, enjoy spectacular views while sharing your daily adventures with fellow guests over a drink. The goal of the expedition is to sail far south in the attempt of reaching the Polar Circle. The expedition team sets the specific voyage route based on local conditions, and takes advantage of the ever-changing opportunities provided by nature. Flexibility will be the key to a successful voyage.
Day 6
Your expedition may include visits to sites such as Port Lockroy, where you can send a postcard home ! Other stops may include:- Petermann Island, Paradise Bay, the Lemaire Channel or Prospect Point. Each voyage is unique and each is crafted to provide the best possible overview of the varied Antarctic environment.
Day 7
You will spend time on and off shore - boarding Zodiacs to enjoy the various rookeries or simply, cruising amidst the ice floes and dramatic shapes, carved by the sea. This truly is a magical wilderness.
Day 8
Enjoy more shore landing and get acquainted with the locals ! There are three main varieties of penguin on the peninsula:- gentoo, Adelie and chinstrap and you will soon become an expert on spotting your favourite kind.
Day 9
Back at King George Island, bid farewell to Antarctica as you board the flight to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel for the night.
Day 10
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Punta Arenas airport for your onward flight.
